So, I feel this will be the last of a blog until later. I found this spot to take a picture. The sign is kind of symbolic!
I'll be back! I have too many clothes to show off not to be!
(I just noticed how sassy my ass looks in this...hehe..)
Ahem.

The Three
These three ladies are one of two reasons I stay in Second Life. I consider them a triangle. The strength of three. There is history in the number three. I believe in it. The reason I belive in this is because I have my own set of three I am part of .
There are the Three Fates in myths. They were considered quite a sight, however, and not at all as gorgeous as these three women. But the power, yes, they had power. I believe that power travels within these women.
The discussion of the power of three and symbolism with spiritual meaning comes to mind. The power of body, mind, and spirit.
There is the oak, ash, and thorn, all considered as the triad of the fairies and a plausible doorway to their world.
The three Brigids in Celtic stories. They travel in groups of three to each complete a task ahead and finish their meaningful journey.
The three Graces, the three Gorgons, and even Cerberus! He may have been a dog from the underworld, but he did have three heads!
That's probably a bad example..ahem. Then there's the Three Stooges! Wait..er...let me go back to the Fairies...er..yeah...
But, I have quotes: (that will save me)
"All things that are specially complete are stamped with this number three."
"Three degrees of comparison complete our knowledge of qualities."
Well, I could go on and on. I just know that these three ladies make me smile.
That's all the power I need from them! I hope to take that with me. It will help. I know it will.

Skins...Two...
Just as I post, and wouldn't you know it, I find a dark skin?
The Fates have a wicked sense of humor.
However, upon reviewing said skin with may people I trust...not one of them liked the darker skin!
"It is not Jayneese."
"It makes her look like someone else."
and so on..similar quotes follow.
*le sigh*
My quest for a dark skin has stopped. I'm staying with my Nomine Russet!
*phew* I need a vacation!

The Great Skin Hunt
I have been searching Second Life like a mad person looking for a new skin. It is not easy to find a dark skin tone. I am a sharp critic of designers who suggest that, economically speaking, creating a dark skin is just a waste of time.
If you are a designer, the challenge is more important than the Lindens, yes? Oh well, maybe that's just me. I rather like the challenge of making something (but I build, I have yet to delve into clothing...much..) more than what Lindens will come in. This is seen when asked to make something. I hardly ever seem to make Lindens, but, the satisfaction of having compliments and seeing my work is enough for me.
I'm digressing..
A friend of mine, from a club I frequented before it shut down (and worked at too), named Maxwell Lundquist, introduced me to Nomine once upon a time. It was, perhaps, a month after coming into Second Life. I had a newbie skin on. The darkest part I could put the skin on manually, was, well, ugly. It made me think if burnt popcorn! So I settled for a soft caramel while I pondered how many pay days it would take to get a good skin.
Maxwell brought me to Nomine when I was prepared to purchase, and I fell in love with the Russet color! It was dark, sensual, and just what I was looking for.
2008 has come and gone, and I was thinking for 2009 a new skin would be nice. There are new skins all the time, after all, and finding a skin darker or equally dark shouldn't be a problem, right?
Wrong.
I have, so far, compared over 15 skin locations, with quality skins - and the dark skins..well, aren't.
Designers, black is not one caramel color. You may believe that the varied caramel colors you are bringing is dark enough, but it really isn't. Black comes in so many more shades!!
The skins are beautiful, of course, but they are not dark enough for me.
Even Nomine's new skins are not dark as the Russet, but I still adore the skin I have even more because of it's rarity!
If anyone reads this other than my normal friends please leave names of places who may have a dark skin I might be interested in! I have been to many locations, but I will take store names if you have ideas!
Now, I need to go back to Nomine tonight....I need to shop again for some items, and not just make up. Ahem.
